Make this the summer you go smoke free.
Quitting smoking isn't always easy, but it could be one of the most important decisions you ever make.
If someone you loved smoked, you'd want them to have the support they needed to quit, the same is true for you.
Smoking can seriously damage your lungs and increase the risk of long-term health conditions such as COPD and lung cancer.
But despite the high risks, people continue to smoke because of stress, anxiety, trauma or simply because it's become a deeply ingrained habit. Acknowledging your reason may be helpful in deciding to quit, smoking is not a healthy coping mechanism.
The good news is that you don't have to do it alone as there is free support available from the NHS and local stop smoking services in Southend to help you quit, stay smoke free, and improve your health.
And if stress, anxiety or other challenges are making it harder to stop, there are services that can support you with those too. Contact us if you need help to find the information you need or to share your experience using a health and social care service.
Every step towards quitting is a step towards better health.
Reach out, ask for support, and make this the summer you choose a healthier future.
