Sexual health is an important part of our overall health and wellbeing, but it can sometimes feel difficult or embarrassing to ask for help. Sexual Health Week -14–20 September, is a great opportunity to remind people across Southend that free, confidential support is available.

Brook Southend provides free sexual health and contraception services for people living in Southend-on-Sea. You can get support with STI testing and treatment, contraception, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing and choices, HIV support, and general sexual health advice.

You don't need a referral to use the service, and you don't have to know exactly what help you need. Staff will listen, answer your questions and help you find the right support. Services are confidential and available to people of all ages.

There are also online options, including free home STI testing for eligible Southend residents and access to some contraception without needing to visit the clinic.

Looking after your sexual health is nothing to be embarrassed about. Getting information, testing and support is a positive step towards looking after yourself and your health.
