Good news for Shoeburyness - £20 million will be invested in the area over the next 10 years through the Pride in Place Fund. This is a Government plan allowing communities to spend the funding on what matters most to them - from improvements to pavements and high streets to investing in culture and green spaces - and make a long-term difference.
Local MP Bayo Alaba wants the community to lead the way in deciding how this money is spent.
A Survey Is Now Open
If you live in Shoeburyness, you can share your views. A short survey is now open for residents to:
Say what matters most in their community
Highlight areas that need improvement
Help shape future investment
We've heard from many of you about concerns regarding health and care services - this could be your chance to influence how this money could make a difference.
A Community-Led Hall
One idea already raised by members of the Shoeburyness Residents Association is the need for a local, community-led hall.
This would help by:
Reducing high hire costs
Allowing more flexible meeting times
Giving the community greater independence
Making it easier to run events and activities
Many community groups currently face limits on cost, time, and oversight from external organisations.
