You may have read about the temporary closure of The Hollies Surgery in Benfleet.
There are a small number of Southend residents registered at the practice, so we wanted to share some important information from the NHS. This may be useful for family and friends who are patients of the practice.
Telephone lines are being restored, and patients will be able to contact the surgery in the usual way from 8am today (12 November 2025)
Face-to-face appointments are taking place at alternative locations while work continues to reopen the building safely.
Non-urgent online consultations have resumed via the Accurx’s online
consultation tool – see Hollies GP website for more information (https://www.theholliesgpsurgery.co.uk/)
Prescription requests are being processed.
Home visits continue
Don't forget that your local pharmacy can also help with advice on minor illnesses, medication
queries, and the Pharmacy First service, which provides treatment for common conditions without needing a GP appointment.
You can also request repeat prescriptions by using the NHS App. This also has information from your medical records. You can find information about health conditions on the App as well. If you do not have a smartphone, you can go to https://www.nhsapp.service.nhs.uk/login.
