Have you been a patient at Dr Bekas Medical Centre in Westcliff? If so, we want to hear about your experience.
Following an inspection in August 2024, and a publication of the CQC report in February 2025, Dr Bekas Medical Centre in Westcliff has been rated as “inadequate”.
The NHS in mid and south Essex has shared some information to let you know what they are doing to support the practice and residents of Southend. They have said:
"The ICB has been supporting the practice in implementing identified improvements; however, the CQC report indicates these have not been effectively embedded. Following the report’s publication, the ICB will be meeting with practice management to develop a revised action plan and establish a process to ensure the required actions are taken.
If we are not reassured of the practice’s ability or commitment to address the ongoing concerns raised by the CQC, then we will be exploring alternative options to ensure that local provision of services is protected, and patients have access to high quality primary care services."
They have reminded patients they have the right to register with another GP practice if they live within that practice's boundary. You can find more information by visiting www.nhs.uk.
If you have any concerns, you should contact the Practice Manager in the first instance. After that, you can contact the NHS Mid and South Essex patient experience team mseicb.complaints@nhs.net who will support any complaints you may have.
