On Monday 6th July, Healthwatch Southend was notified about some proposed changes to the way NHS GP services are delivered in Shoebury.

These changes involve the Southend East Primary Care Network and its use of Norton Place.

Dr Irlam & Tabitha Love, Joint Clinical Directors at Southend East Primary Care Network released a statement confirming the following:

“Following national changes to the way some NHS funding is allocated, Southend East Primary Care Network is reviewing how they currently deliver services to make sure it continues to provide the best possible care and make the best use of public money.

This is not a reduction in local NHS services, and patients will continue to receive the care they need, although some services may in future be provided from different locations.

We understand these changes may cause concern and are working closely with our local GP practices to ensure patients are kept informed and services continue to meet the needs of our local community.”

Tom Abell, Chief Executive, NHS Essex Integrated Care Board has issued a statement and FAQ's for those who are registered with the affected Surgeries.
