Mid & South Essex Hospitals have announced changes to parking at Basildon, Broomfield and Southend Hospitals.
When you enter the hospital car park, your number plate will be read automatically. This has just started at Southend Hospital, and will roll out to Basildon from 16 July and Broomfield Hospital from 22 July 2025. Cameras will operate 24 hours a day. You will need to pay before you leave the car park.
How do I pay for parking?
You can make your payment at a payment terminal on site or you can use the parking app available on the App Store or on Google Play. The app is called 'Trust'.
I've got a Blue Badge - what do I do?
If you have a Blue Badge, you can register your vehicle on-line. You will save time by pre-registering once and your permit will stay active until your Blue Badge expires. Only one car can be registered, although you can change the car on-line.
You can also just register the car at each visit. There is no parking charge for holders of a Blue Badge.
Are there other changes?
Certain patients and visitors can still get free parking. Click on the button below to read more and to find out how to register a Blue Badge.
I have now sent 3 emails, without response concerning the alleged continued presence of my car within the Southend Hospital’s car park. I have a receipt for £4.00 payment on leaving. As such I have closed my Trust account, but temporarily kept the Trust app. This is not acceptable as the app map shows where my car is now and has done since leaving the car park at lunch time. The Trust app system is poorly designed and totally appalling , it requires urgent action to rectify !
