The NHS in Mid and South Essex have issued an update on the status of ADHD prescribing arrangements in our area.

Their plans include:

• Developing an agreement for GPs to receive additional funding to continue to prescribe and monitor ADHD medications on a per patient basis, covering both adults and children. They are speaking with GP practices to encourage sign-ups to this wider offer across all age ranges.

• Where general practice is no longer prescribing, they have put in place alternative local provision for ADHD medication prescribing for NHS patients, which is being delivered by local GP Federations.

• They are developing new commissioning solutions for ADHD services, working towards a single pathway of care for ADHD services and medication prescribing for patients.

They are also continuing to update their website with important information and FAQs, which you can find here:

If you have any further questions, they have also set up an email address where you can ask for further support or guidance: mseicb-s.adhd@nhs.net.
