Southend Councillors ask questions about potential hospital reconfiguration

Later this year local residents will be given the opportunity to have their say regarding reconfiguration of our three local hospitals (Southend, Basildon and Broomfield). In preperation for this the Success Regime are going through a process to give the public two viable appraisal options to discuss. Full details of the Success Regime and the work they are doing can be found HERE

Southend TV visited Southend Borough Council last week to film the Special People Scrutiny Committee Meeting regarding this topic.

The meeting was to hear an update on appraisal options for our hospital reconfiguration, and Southend Councillors had the opportunity to put questions to the Success Regime. Most of the questions related to how potential future changes to our health services and hospital would affect local residents. Topics varied and covered things like patient transport, ambulances, attracting and retaining staff, and accessing services.
