Southend-on-Sea Borough Council invites the public to celebrate International Women’s Day. During the “Be Bold for Change” themed day at the Civic Centre, visitors can take part in workshops for prospective female leaders courtesy of Emma Nicholls of Your Red Dress and the Council’s Women Action Learning Group will be sharing information with attendees.
A number of awareness and information stalls, including OUTreach – the Council’s LGBT staff forum - and Unison will be on hand to give advice and information plus find out about Southend Soroptomists, Running Sisters, Health Walks, Active Women, blood pressure checks and a discussion about women’s heart health. 01 Mar 2017 - Joint Working Board (for three local hospitals)

Location: Boardroom, Southend Hospital
As part of the new governance arrangements between Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust and Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a Joint Working Board (JWB) has been established.
The JWB is made up of a committee of each of the three Trusts to which responsibilities have been delegated by each Trust Board. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, 1 March 2017 at Southend Hospital. Full details and papers for this meeting can be downloaded at HERE

This meeting is for the Clinical Commisioning Group to discuss issues relating to Primary Care such as current services or potential future services to be commissioned, and making descisions regarding things like GP requests for boundary changes or book closures. The public are welcome to come along to the meeting to listen to what's being discussed and we would encourage anyone interested in how decisions are made about local services to join us at Harcourt House.

This meeting welcomes representatives from the Patient Participation Groups at each surgery in Southend. We discuss health and social care services locally and have speakers talking about all manner of things such as the hospital and the Complex Care Team.
